FIFA opens the first ever African headquarters in Morocco
FIFA has opened its first-ever African headquarters in Rabat, Morocco, marking a significant milestone in the organization’s commitment to developing football across the continent.

The state-of-the-art office, located at the Mohammed VI Complex, aims to strengthen support for African federations in their development projects and provide technical and administrative assistance.
The headquarters is situated in Rabat, Morocco’s capital city, solidifying the country’s position as a hub for African football operations. The office was officially opened on July 26, 2025, by FIFA President Gianni Infantino, in the presence of notable figures, including CAF President Patrice Motsepe and FRMF President Fouzi Lekjaa.
The new office will coordinate with existing FIFA regional offices in Brazzaville, Dakar, Johannesburg, and Kigali to direct and implement key policies for African football development. Morocco is set to co-host the 2030 FIFA World Cup with Portugal and Spain and will host five consecutive editions of the U-17 Women’s World Cup, showcasing its growing influence in global football.
