AFRO-FASHION x QUARANTINE: THE QUARANTINE (or CONFINEMENT) FASHION SHOW

ADAMA PARIS, the Famous Senegalese Designer & founder of Dakar Fashion Week & Black Fashion week, initiated the very 1st and unique Fashion Show to react to the Global pandemic. In 3 countries: SENEGAL, MALI & IVORY COAST, she gathered designers, models and influencers to create a very unusual Fashion show from their respective home. Her goal was to show that the African Fashion is everywhere.

AFRO-FASHION x INNOVATION: THE 1st VIRTUAL FASHION SHOW

In reaction to the cancellation of all the Fashion events, the Congolese Fashion label Hanifa created the very 1st virtual Fashion show “Pink Label Congo Collection”, using 3D models, a “groundbreaking move”.

AFRO-FASHION X STAY FASHIONABLY SAFE:

As a stylist, I have to follow the new rules that we’ve been given to stay safe during the pandemic but, I decided to bring my sense of Fashion while supporting our African Artisans. This is how the AFRO-RONA masks were created. A reversible mask made out of noble African fabrics and shells from my roots: as Bogolan (mudcloth) from Mali & Cory shells or the KENTE fabric from the Ashanti (Ivory Coast & Ghana), which will protect anyone while preserving the sense of Fashion. Many other African designers created their own. The mask is the new accessory.
