East Africa makes History: A football Milestone
East Africa has made history in the African Nations Championship (CHAN) with all three co-host nations, Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda, advancing to the quarterfinals.

This achievement marks the first time in CAF competition history that three nations from the same region have reached the quarterfinals together.
Kenya has a historic achievement. The Harambee Stars, making their CHAN debut, topped Group A with 10 points, impressing with their rock-solid defending and swift counterattacks. They will face Madagascar in the quarterfinals.
The Tanzania called The Taifa Stars set the tone with a dominant and unbeaten run in Group B, collecting 10 points from four matches. They will lock horns with Morocco, the 2020 champions, in the quarterfinals.
The Cranes broke the barrier by qualifying Uganda for the quarterfinals, navigating a tricky group with resilience and notching key wins. They secured their spot with a dramatic 3-3 draw against South Africa.
This collective success has electrified the region, uniting millions of fans under the spirit of “Pamoja” (Swahili for “together”). The quarterfinals promise to be thrilling, with East African football showcasing its talent and passion on the continental stage.
