IDRIS ELBA TO BUILD FILM STUDIOS IN GHANA AND TANZANIA
Idris Elba, the Golden Globe-winning actor, is committed to developing Africa’s film industry. As part of this effort, he plans to establish film studios in Ghana and Tanzania over the next decade. To achieve this goal, he believes a physical presence on the continent is crucial.
Elba intends to spend significant time in countries like Ghana, Sierra Leone, and Tanzania to support local filmmakers and stories. He aims to create world-class film studios comparable to those in Hollywood, Nollywood, or Bollywood.
By addressing challenges like piracy, limited training opportunities, and a lack of official film institutions, Elba hopes to contribute to the growth and recognition of African cinema.
