NIGERIAN ATHLETE, BOLAJI ENIOLA BECOMES FIRST AFRICAN ATHLETE TO WIN A PARALYMPIC MEDAL IN BADMINTON
Eniola Mariam Bolaji has made history by becoming the first African athlete to win a medal in Para-Badminton at the Paralympic Games, securing a Bronze for Nigeria in the women’s Singles SL3 category.
At just 18 years old, Bolaji triumphed over her Ukrainian opponent, Oksana Kozyna, with a commanding victory in straight sets, 2-0 (21-9, 21-9).
This remarkable achievement not only marks Nigeria’s first Paralympic medal in Para-Badminton but also their first medal across the Paralympics, Olympics, and U20 Championships combined.
