Nigerian influencer VeryDarkMan alleges that his NGO’s website was hacked, resulting in the loss of ₦180 million.

Social media influencer VeryDarkMan (VDM) says his NGO lost ₦180 million in a cyberattack. In a video posted on December 27, 2024, he explained that hackers broke into the NGO’s website and stole the money, transferring it to an unknown account. He said one suspect is in custody and that the NGO’s account is now frozen, with only ₦20 million left. VDM plans to go to Jos to try and recover the missing ₦160 million.

After the attack, VDM temporarily shut down the NGO’s app to prevent further issues and promised to keep his followers updated on the recovery efforts. His NGO, the Martins Vincent Osei Initiative, had received significant donations, including ₦100 million from Don Jazzy.

However, some people doubt VDM’s story, suggesting it’s impossible to steal money directly from a website. This incident highlights the need for strong online security for any organization handling large sums of money. Protecting finances online is crucial for maintaining trust and keeping operations running smoothly.
